WHO WE ARE

Welcome to VORA, where three composers from Los Angeles and Berlin collaborate to create unique cinematic music.

We are VORA, a composer collective based in Berlin and Los Angeles. Our team is comprised of three composers: Kirsten Evans, Marvin McMahon, and Thomas Eggensberger. We specialize in creating hybrid music for media, blending diverse influences and expertise.

Each composer brings a unique set of skills to the collective: Thomas serves as our in-house composer, orchestrator, and mixer; Kirsten is a composer, singer, and sample library developer; and Marvin is a composer, arranger, and pianist. This diverse background allows us to create a rich tapestry of sound.

We have contributed to albums for companies such as Bibliotheque Music, Warner Chappell Production Music, and SoHo Music, among others. Individually, we have worked on projects for major platforms and networks including Netflix, Amazon Studios, Hulu, HBO, BBC, History, Peacock, WWE, and many more.

Our music is known for its dark, sonically rich textures and emotional depth. We often incorporate recordings of instrumentalists and found sounds, which we manipulate and weave into our scores. VORA also develops unique textural sample libraries, frequently used in our compositions, showcasing the innovative recording and processing techniques that we have perfected.

We focus on crafting soundscapes for Drama, Horror, Thriller, and Trailers, among other genres, always striving to evoke powerful emotional responses through our work.

Our story began… with a shared vision and a spirit of collaboration. Marvin, Kirsten, and Thomas first teamed up on an ambient sample library project. Drawing from Marvin's experimental sounds in Berlin, they embarked on a creative journey that shaped their collective efforts.

Through a fortunate connection, Thomas and Marvin discovered their mutual passion for hybrid music for media. This shared interest led to the creation of Ambient Keys, a unique sample library produced by Kirsten and Thomas's company, INLETAUDIO. When Kirsten met Marvin during his visits to Los Angeles, they found another common ground in their love for musical innovation, making Ambient Keys one of INLETAUDIO's most popular offerings.

Building on this successful collaboration, Kirsten, Marvin, and Thomas ventured into original composition, creating two 12-track albums together. Since then, our trio has continued to explore new projects and refine our craft. With a shared passion for drama, horror, thriller, and experimental genres, we create immersive soundscapes that resonate with audiences worldwide. From composition to recording and mixing, our collaborative efforts ensure a seamless and impactful musical experience for our listeners.
